Silly! Horses can & do wear blankets, as well as Sheets, Turnout, Rain Sheets, Coolers and Fly Sheets.

For many reasons; maybe horses got clipped (body hair), maybe the owners wants to keep the horses dry & clean. Maybe the horses need to be kept warm.

Cows have thicker skin than horses….. and therefore some horses need to be kept warm.

I only “blanket” mine when I am horse camping. Then I will use either a sheet or turnout, depending on the overnite temps.

I use a cooler, when my Icelandic Horse is soaking wet with sweat and I need to dry him off quickly, such in the spring or fall, when the overnite temps will drop and be chilly.

HA! So…you see some horse owners like to baby thier horses.
