Ahh that was lovely. My heart was in my mouth when he came up the stairs looking poorly, but I’m so glad it was okay. I have all Miss E’s old teeth. I just can’t throw a bit of her away. My mum had ours in a little trinket box in her room and I remember being fascinated by them.

As I kindergarten teacher I can totally relate to this post. “Get it out already!” I want to screech when I see a child slobbering all over his hand; twisting and twirling, rocking and rolling the loose tooth between his fingers, totally oblivious to what I want him to be doing. Then of course you have to send him to the sink to wash because
his hand has been in his mouth, right? All for that $$ from the tooth fairy and a plastic tooth holder necklace from me. It is amazing how different they look when those top ones go!

My mom saved a few of my teeth and I found them one day in a prescription bottle buried on her dresser. They were mostly broken and I eventually threw them away–what was I going to do with a bunch of dried out teeth??

I suppose I’ll do the same for my children.

(And Creative Memories or Archivers probably has some crazy way of *scrapbooking* teeth now…)

That certainly brings back memories of my own children losing their teeth and putting dollar bills under their pillows. Snags sure got lucky with five dollars!

I must read that book you mention. It is on one of my reading lists, but I am very curious about it now and will check to see if the library has it.

I don’t have any children, but I have a niece who was with me for the week when she lost a tooth. She literally freaked out because she thought that the tooth fairy wouldn’t be able to find her.

I told her the tooth fairy was like Santa and could find her anywhere. I amost had to write her a check because I couldn’t find ANY cash. Eventually, I found a dollar bill in a box of children’s books of all places!

I’m with Corey on this one. You made it sound so poetic that I almost cried.

Okay…so I don’t know if I am just losing it…or if listening to “hallelujah” by Rufus Wainwright on my cre8buzz profile while reading this post made me overly emotional, but seriously…..that just made me cry.

mostly about your gut reaction to grab your epipen, but also about those three precious teeth….
it’s okay….I am becoming more and more away of just how scary I am. LOL
