MommyTime, I got copies of all my test results and papers from the hospital in the mail the other day. I read through them all and the closest thing I found to a diagnosis was from the doctor who asked me a bunch of mental health questions. He felt it was all anxiety related coupled with acid indigestion. I don't really buy that given that it started at 4:30 in the morning when I obviously wasn't sitting around worrying about anything, and I hadn't eaten anything since dinner the night before. My personal feeling is that it was probably muscular skeletal, and probably I slept funny. It's possible the pain originated in my neck or shoulder and radiated to my chest and I only thought it started in my chest and radiated to my neck and shoulder. At least all the tests came back negative and the x-rays and CT scans of my heart and arteries and such all came back looking good.

I am so very glad to know that you did not have a heart attack! Sounds like a nightmarish stay at the hospital, though. Did they ever come to a real diagnosis?

Glad to hear that you're okay.

If it helps any, I had severe pain in my abdomen once. Crippling pain. So bad I was bent over and could not stand. I thought something was really wrong, and I was at work.

So there are my co-workers asking if they should call an ambulance. I declined and said that I would just lie flat on my stomach for a bit. So I did.

After about 10 minutes of excruciating pain, I broke the most horrific sounding wind in my life. And then... I was just dandy. Except my co-workers were somewhat miffed and disgusted.

Bad gas. It's bad for everyone.

Stay happy and healthy. Be well.

Wow BelleV, hope you're feeling better. What a nightmare. I laughed at the bit about being punched in the face by your bosoms but I was a little nervous too so Bob knows what you were feeling. Hope it doesn't happen again, but if it does you still need to get it checked out just in case. Because I am your mum. (Not, but you know what I mean.)

What can I say? You've written in such a light hearted and amusing way about an experience that must have been absolutely terrifying, at least to start with, before it became tedious. It even made you miss a family birthday party! So I am glad you are well, although concerned that there didn't seem to be any diagnosis at the end of all that. Let's all hope it doesn't happen again.

WOW girl....what an ordeal that was. I am so relieved you are okay. Any ideas as to what was causing all the pain? I do hope it never happens again.

I did enjoy your story....but only because you are a fantastic writer. :)

We missed you at the birthday party but I am glad you are okay. We were all worried!! FYI, North Arundel Hospital (our local hospital) is just as awful. So glad everything worked out.
Love from your cousin!
